Born into a Legacy. . . Team Baby Update!

Chuck Norris once gathered 9 women together and had them make a baby in one month, just by pointing at their bellies and saying “Bang.”

And marvelous as this may well be, we all know Karate’s easier than Jiu-Jitsu.  For quality Jiu-Jitsu offspring, it takes 9 months of love and care.

We’ve been blessed as a team to have a few new additions to our ever-growing family.  Most recently, we had the arrival of Samuel Shipman, who is barely a month old and already a stud.   Like his father, Jim, he comes from good stock and has been imbued, since birth, with the quiet confidence of all Shipman men.   Rumor has it that a nurse in the hospital was curious as to whether Sam was lactose intolerant.  What she didn’t realize was that Sam isn’t lactose intolerant, he just refuses to put up with lactose’s sh*t.

Like all Legacy babies before him, Samuel stands for truth, justice and the Jiu-Jitsu way – here he is looking to “Fight the Power” just a few days after he was born.

A few months before Samuel, we had Marley Ramirez join our ranks.  Marley was the first baby born into our Legacy, and the first to be protected forever by the team into which she was born.  Marley is now 3 months old, and as strong and beautiful as a young girl can be.  Here’s a recent photo of beautiful Marley, just after she informed Santa to “save the gifts, old man. .  . I’ve already got it all. . . “

And finally, in just a few days, we’re expecting the newest addition to our family.  We can’t express how excited we are to welcome Joseph and Susan Lara’s first child into this world.  We don’t know if it’ll be a boy or a girl, but we know s/he’ll be loved dearly by two of the most wonderful parents in the world.  We also know that with the third baby, the Tri-Force will be complete, and world domination is on the horizon for Gracie Humaitá Austin – the 0-6 month old division of the next World Championships will be OURS!!!!  Let’s just hope Joseph has soft hands at the delivery. . .

In all seriousness, we’re so blessed to have such a close knit team and family structure here at Gracie Humaitá Austin.  The love we have for Samuel and Marley cannot be measured, and that love will only be doubled with the arrival of Joseph’s and Susan’s child.

We’re only strong with each other.  We’re only strong because of each other.

One team.  One family.  One Legacy.  Gracie Humaitá Austin
